Arif Ahmed, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Health Administration at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at UMKC. His primary responsibilities are to lead the health care leadership and management programs. He also leads the health-related executive education programs at the Bloch School, including executive leadership programs for physicians and a leadership program for Cerner Corp. Ahmed’s research interests include cost, quality and outcome characteristics of alternative health care delivery models, and policy implications of patterns of dental diseases and care needs.
Ahmed completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Policy/Research and Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
He began his career as a dental surgeon, with training in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He served on the board of Mother and Child Health Coalition.
