The REACH Foundation has recently granted a total of $605,000 to 14 organizations across our 6-county region through the Building Connections to Coverage and Care Grants program. These funds are allocated under our Bridging the Coverage Divide initiative, aimed at linking healthcare consumers with culturally sensitive providers, health insurance, and various public benefits.
“Organizations that receive this grant will use the funds to link consumers to any eligible healthcare services and public benefits, such as the CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), CCAP (Child Care Assistance Program), WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and more. This will help our grantee partners better serve and support individuals and families needing these crucial services,” said Carla Gibson, Vice President of Programs.
REACH has specifically targeted programs that work with BIPOC-led and serving organizations and those assisting immigrants, refugees, and rural communities. We recognize that factors such as social determinants of health, systemic racism, language barriers, fear of deportation, discrimination, stigma, and chronic underfunding in rural and low-income areas contribute significantly to disparities in health outcomes. These grants are designed to tackle these challenges by supporting local organizations that help their communities access essential health resources that might otherwise be out of reach.
