Provide technical assistance to coalition to implement activities related to trauma awareness and preparedness in Wyandotte County, KS.
Build upon the existing capacity of our partnerships to institutionalize and evaluate health and racial equity through the work of the Community Health Improvement Plan. The desired outcomes include: 1) Establishing shared understanding of the Lenses among CHIP teams, 2) Operationalizing the application of the Lenses through the CHIP's work, and 3) Establishing measures to evaluate progress and impact on the Lenses.
Support to continue and expand the VISTA program that provides VISTA volunteers that will be deployed throughout the Health Department and in the community to work on various health programming.
This project will provide funds to support the creation of a new part-time position supporting Healthy Communities Wyandotte. The part-time communications strategist will create and begin implementing a strategic communications plan to coordinate HCW’s efforts to improve the county’s poor health rankings. The Communications Strategist will oversee this process, guiding HCW’s Communications Action Team to create a plan that will provide direction for HCW communications.
