In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, many nonprofits quickly pivoted to telehealth, potentially overlooking key issues like policies, privacy and cost. On December 3, 2020, the REACH Healthcare Foundation, in conjunction with the KU Center for Telemedicine and Telehealth (KUCTT), hosted a webinar titled “Telehealth: In Response to COVID and Beyond” to review COVID-19 telehealth policy updates and the landscape of telehealth policy after the public health emergency.

The webinar was led by KUCTT Acting Director Dr. Ryan Spaulding and Associate Director Dr. Shawna Wright. Dr Spaulding and Wright discussed COVID-19 related telehealth policy updates, identified useful telehealth policy resources, reviewed basic tenets of organizational and provider-level telehealth policy development, and outlined core elements of conducting a technology needs assessment and developing a plan for selecting appropriate telehealth technology.
