One of the REACH Foundation’s recent traditions is annual holiday giving to organizations that provide emergency food, clothing, and household assistance. We began this practice in 2012 with a $2,500 grant to Giving the Basics, Inc. Since then, we have expanded the effort – each year involving all REACH staff in selecting organizations within each of our six service area counties for a one-time contribution to support household and holiday needs. In total, the foundation has awarded holiday grants totaling $113,200 to 47 organizations.

This season marks our eighth year of holiday giving, with awards totaling $36,000. The organizations selected play important roles in helping individuals and families with utilities, housing, holiday giving and other basic needs.

As we approach the giving season, it’s impossible to ignore the real social, emotional and economic challenges that families are experiencing in this pandemic time. The REACH Team thanks the following groups for the work they do to assist their fellow community members:

Our thanks to the dozens of nonprofit organizations throughout our metro area that are continuing to find ways to assist and support people during these challenging times. We are thankful for their efforts and for the generosity of our community.
