The REACH Healthcare Foundation and Wyandotte Health Foundation are excited to announce the launch of the Rapid Equity Fund. This partnership is designed to provide gifts of up to $5,000 to eligible organizations whose primary focus is serving Black, Brown, immigrant, refugee, and rural populations to alleviate existing health disparities.
It is crucial to ensure nonprofits have the resources they need to continue their mission-related work now more than ever. The Rapid Equity Fund seeks to address the challenges many grassroots nonprofits face by providing unrestricted financial support, enabling organizations to sustain and enhance their workforce and operations amid economic pressures. The fund aims to eliminate the burdensome application process and reduce the turnaround time from application to receipt of funds, and reduce administrative requirements for aligned organizations that serve highly vulnerable populations.
“We are thrilled to embark on this exciting new partnership with Wyandotte Health Foundation. This partnership represents a significant opportunity for us as funders to create a more equitable funding landscape that empowers local nonprofits to thrive and respond effectively to the needs of their communities, all the while challenging ourselves as funders to find innovative ways to implement trust-based philanthropic practices into our grantmaking initiatives,” said Carla Gibson, Vice President of Programs at REACH Healthcare Foundation.
Randy Lopez, President of Wyandotte Health Foundation, commented, “This fund allows nonprofits to bolster their capacity, helping them to meet immediate needs and invest in their long-term growth and resilience. We’re proud to partner with the REACH Healthcare Foundation to offer more accessible funding opportunities, strengthen our communities, and expand access to care, particularly within Wyandotte County.”
About the Fund
The Rapid Equity Fund was previously known as the Rapid REACH Equity Fund, which stemmed from REACH’s lessons learned from the Centering Black Voices initiative and commitment to advancing health equity for all communities. Over the prior two years, REACH awarded 19 Rapid REACH Equity grants totaling more than $95,000 to organizations within its six-county service area.
In partnership with the Wyandotte Health Foundation, the revitalized Rapid Equity Fund aims to deepen both foundations’ support for Wyandotte County organizations while increasing the quantity and amount of available grants.
The Rapid Equity Fund stands as a testament to the commitment of REACH and Wyandotte Health Foundation to uplift marginalized voices and promote healthcare access and equity for everyone across the region. Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for the Rapid Equity Fund are encouraged to visit www.reachhealth.org/rapid-equity-fund to learn more about the grant requirements and eligibility.
