The REACH Healthcare Foundation is accepting applications from individuals with an interest in issues pertaining to health equity and health access to fill positions on the Board of Directors. The deadline to apply is Friday, December 4, 2020.
REACH is a regional philanthropy governed by a 17-member volunteer Board that awards grants and provides other support to strengthen health insurance coverage and services for uninsured and medically underserved people. The foundation’s service area encompasses six counties in the bi-state area: Allen, Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas; and Cass, Jackson and Lafayette counties in Missouri, including Kansas City, Missouri.
A 13-member Community Advisory Committee (CAC) leads the nominations process, with responsibility for developing a slate of nominees that bring community knowledge and professional expertise, and reflect the demographic diversity of the REACH service area. Applicants also must be 18 or older and reside within the six-county service area.
“To ensure the board is representative of the foundation’s diverse service area, we are actively seeking candidates from our rural counties as well as individuals who reside in Jackson and Wyandotte counties,” said Jon Marshall, REACH Board Chair. “Along with an emphasis on racial and ethnic diversity, other areas of interest include emerging leaders, legal expertise, finance and investment expertise, and health policy backgrounds.” Marshall said REACH has added an additional question regarding other aspects of diversity to the application for 2021.

Applicants must complete a Statement of Interest form and submit a resume by December 4, 2020. The form and other information are available here.
