Training on Affordable Care Act Provisions

On Friday, November 30, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will hold a Community Ambassadors Training session on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) to help health providers and community members understand and communicate about the law and its key provisions.

The November 30 training is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the REACH Healthcare Foundation Conference Room, 6700 Antioch Road, Merriam, Kansas 66204. Certificates of attendance will be provided for CEUs for social workers, nurses and case managers.

Participants will gain information on:

  • The ACA and the timeline for roll-out of its key provisions
  • Changes to Medicare and Medicaid
  • How families, individuals and small businesses can obtain health insurance
  • Consumer protections for individuals with health insurance
