Rekha Patnaik is Executive Vice President and Director of Bank Strategy and Administration for UMB Bank. She is responsible for leading and managing projects initiated by the UMB Bank chief executive officer, in addition to prioritizing bank resources and commitments to ensure maximum efficiency and efficacy.
Previously, Patnaik served as Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Strategy and Development and in that role she was responsible for facilitating strategic planning across all divisions and monitoring the progress of UMB’s key initiatives. Additionally, Ms. Patnaik directed all merger and acquisition activities, including establishing an acquisitions strategy, negotiating transaction pricing and overseeing due diligence.
Patnaik has more than eight years of experience in the financial services industry and has closed more than 20 acquisitions for UMB Financial Corporation, totaling in excess of $350 million in aggregate deal value. Previously, she worked as a consultant for Accenture, where she was responsible for financial and project planning. She was pivotal in helping raise more than $230 million in common equity capital in 2013 alone.
In addition to being a CFA Charterholder, Patnaik holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from the University of Pune in India, a Master of Science degree in computer science from the State University of New York in Stony Brook, N.Y., and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
Patnaik is active in her community and serves as a member of the board development committee and on the board of directors for Literacy KC. She also serves on the board of directors for the Asian American Chamber of Commerce – Kansas City and is a member of the REACH Community Advisory Committee.
