Jim Echols, a Wyandotte County resident, is a business and human resources/employment consultant and Managing Director of Nu-Equities, LLC. Echols brings a long career in government, including previous service in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves and Oklahoma Army National Guard. He has earned a number of commendations for military service, include the U.S. Army Bronze Star Medal and other honors. He is president of the board of trustees for the Economic Opportunity Foundation, Inc., in Kansas City, Kansas, and chair of the Kansas Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency. Echols also is a mentor for the Kansas Department of Corrections in Lansing.
Echols earned a bachelor of arts in Public Service at the University of Central Oklahoma, with graduate studies in International Relations and Human Relations.
