REACH CEO Named to Health Grantmakers Board

Merriam, Kansas — REACH Foundation President and CEO Brenda Sharpe was elected to the board of directors of Grantmakers in Health, a national nonprofit educational organization that promotes communication and collaboration among foundations engaged in health issues. Sharpe was one of four health foundation leaders elected to the board. She will begin her term in March 2015.

Sharpe has led the REACH Foundation since 2004, guiding the development of the foundation’s grant making approaches and public policy interests and involvement over 10 years. Sharpe also serves on the board of directors of Heartland Health Systems serving St. Joseph and the Northland area of Missouri, and serves as a patron member of the Blue Valley School District Board of Education Finance Committee in Johnson County, Kansas. She was a founding member of the board of directors of the United Way of Greater Kansas City following the merger of three United Ways in 2007, and currently serves on the organization’s Community Impact Committee. Sharpe also is serving by appointment to the Johnson County Mental Health Center Advisory Board.
