REACH Board Seeks Candidates for 2014

Merriam, Kansas — The REACH Healthcare Foundation is accepting applications from community members with an interest in health issues and health care to fill six positions on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. The deadline to apply for the REACH Board is Wednesday, December 18, 2013.

REACH awards grants and provides other resources to improve access to health care and quality of care for uninsured and medically underserved people. The foundation’s service area includes Allen, Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas; Cass, Jackson and Lafayette counties in Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri. The Foundation has invested $37.4 million in grants and special initiatives in Missouri and Kansas since 2005.

The foundation is governed by a 17-member Board of Directors. Members must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the Foundation’s six-county service area. In selecting members, the Board looks for candidates who reflect geographic and demographic diversity. In addition, the Board seeks candidates with financial, management, health services, nonprofit and/or volunteer experience, and demonstrate an understanding of some of the issues that influence individual and community health.
