REACH Awards 2014 Core Operating Grants
MERRIAM, KANSAS — The REACH Healthcare Foundation awarded $1,130,000 in grants to support the core operations of 18 primary care, oral health, and mental health service providers, and rural health coalitions and advocacy organizations working to improve access to health care and increase the health care workforce. The awards are given annually to organizations in the foundation’s six-county service area that are considered by the Board of Directors to be essential to a strong, regional health care safety net, and that incorporate best practices in nonprofit governance and management.
Since 2006, the REACH Foundation has awarded 111 core operating grants totaling $9,000,659. The grants can be used for personnel, equipment, supplies, occupancy, technology, finance and audit requirements, and other business expenses. Grant amounts in this category vary depending on the organization’s operating budget, which must be less than $15,000,000 annually.
“We invited these organizations to apply for the funding in recognition of their exemplary efforts,” said William Moore, Vice President of Program, Policy and Evaluation at REACH. “The work of these 18 organizations is highly aligned with the foundation’s priorities, and they have a strong record of achieving results for their clients and in their communities.”
