Resources and Reports

On February 24, 2014, the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City and the REACH Healthcare Foundation hosted a presentation of findings from an evaluation of the Regional Health Care Initiative. The Regional Health Care Initiative (RHCI) was established in 2007 to promote innovative, collaborative approaches to meeting the health care needs of uninsured and medically underserved people in metropolitan Kansas City. The prinicipal focus of the RHCI is to facilitate coordination and efficiency in the safety net system to produce greater health access.

Health Management Associates was engaged to evaluate how well the RHCI has met the following goals:

  1. Improve collaboration and partnership among safety net organizations in the region;
  2. Increase access to health care in the region;
  3. Improve coordination and efficiency within and among safety net organizations in the region.
