
Bill Bruning is the former President and CEO of the Mid-America Coalition on Health Care, a nationally recognized collaboration of large employers, health plans, hospitals, universities, physicians, public health and governmental units that works to improve the functioning of the region’s health care delivery system. He brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and governance, particularly in the health care arena.
Bruning is currently co-chair of the American Psychiatric Association’s Workplace Mental Health Advisory Board, a member of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Council, the Kansas Governor’s Council on Fitness and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services’ Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Advisory Board, and numerous other health planning committees and councils. He served on the Board of Truman Medical Center for 19 years, with two years as the Board president, and has been active in a number of metropolitan arts and historic preservation organizations.
He attended Davidson College, and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, an MBA with a concentration in organization and administration, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas.
