Tim Michel is Senior Vice President for The Commerce Trust Company. He is a member of the company’s Equity and Fixed Income Selects Committee which oversees the selection and evaluation of internal and external managers. He is also a member of the company's Investment Policy Committee. He has extensive experience in the management of endowment and private wealth resources, including equities, fixed income and alternative investments.
Previously, Michel was Market Investment Executive for U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, with oversight responsibilities for 16 investment professionals who together managed approximately $5 billion. He also served as Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for TradeStreet Investment Advisors, the institutional asset management arm of Nations Bank.
Michel has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Kansas State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Wichita State University. He served as chairman of Bank of America’s United Way Regional Campaign and has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. He is former president of the Kansas City Chartered Financial Analysts Society.
