Janie Schumaker

Janie Schumaker is Service Leader Emergent / Urgent Services for Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. This position is responsible for achieving top decile performance and strategic alignment in the areas of the Emergency Department, Ambulance Service, Urgent Care and Trauma Program.

Schumaker previously managed the Center for Performance Excellence at T-System, Inc., an electronic medical record and paper charting solution for emergency departments. Schumaker formerly worked as Director of Emergency Services at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, responsible for an emergency department that serves 39,000 patients annually. She also formerly worked as Corporate Director of Quality Resources for Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, where she also served as Manager of the hospital’s Level I Trauma Center and held various other positions at the hospital.

Schumaker received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Saint Mary. Schumaker currently serves as the Secretary Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Board Certification for Emergency Nurses. She resides in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
