Eve McGee is a master’s level social worker housed in UMKC’s School of Nursing to provide case management and other support to increase the educational success rate of underrepresented and disadvantaged students in the School of Nursing.
McGee brings her own personal experience living in public housing and receiving government benefits to her work with low-income and underserved individuals. As Director of Social Services for reStart Inc., one of the largest homeless shelters in the area, McGee was responsible for daily operations of the shelter and identifying community resources for clients.
McGee has lectured on effective support for ethnically diverse students and how to increase cultural competency in the nursing education program.
